Our Commitment to Care

Our Commitment to Care

Patient Experience Matters to Us

Throughout the Washington Health System, we have embraced a patient- and family-centered care philosophy to create a better experience for you and your family. We do this by encouraging you to participate in your or your family member’s care, respecting your or your family’s unique needs and preferences, and helping you to feel confident in your ability to care for yourself or your loved one. We will partner with you, listen to you, and honor your perspectives and choices. By collaborating with you and your family, we will work together toward creating a healthy, healing environment and outcome.

During Your Stay

Thank you for trusting our team with your care! If you are admitted as a patient to a WHS facility, you may be cared for by one of our hospitalist physicians. Visit the Hospitalists page to learn more about our hospitalist team.

We care about providing our patients with a healing environment and strive to make your stay as comfortable as possible. To help promote healing, your body needs rest. So every night we do the following:

  • Turn down hallway lights.
  • Close doors to patient rooms.
  • Turn off call feature on in-room phones.
  • Offer earplugs to patients.
  • Turn down the volume on our unit telephones and other equipment.
  • Use our “nighttime voices” and ask visitors to do the same.
  • Ask patients to turn down TV volume.
  • Cluster care to minimize awakening patients during the night.

If you have any additional questions or concerns about the care you or your loved one is receiving, please speak to your nurse or nursing supervisor. If your issue still is not resolved, then contact Administration at 724-223-3006. If no one answers, dial "0" for the Operator. You also have the right to file your complaint with either:

Patient Experience Surveys

Washington Health System continually strives to improve the patient experience, enhance satisfaction and advance the quality and safety of care. Dedicated to patient- and family-centered care, we rely on the feedback we receive from our patient satisfaction surveys, letters or emails to recognize staff on units as well as identify opportunities to make improvements.

Our goal is to partner with our patients and their families to work together toward a healthy outcome and create an excellent patient experience. To accomplish this, the health system sends a survey to a random sample of patients. If you receive a survey by mail, email or text, please complete and return it so we can continue to meet your needs.

Our mission is to provide great patient care. Our greatest asset is the people working here to provide that care. Our desired outcomes are healthy and happy patients who have had an excellent experience. We appreciate your feedback.
